MAKE YOUR OWN ARC REACTOR! PART 2
Ever wanted to be Tony Stark/Iron Man for Halloween, cosplay, or maybe just for the heck of it? Have you wanted to make an awesome arc reactor, but not spend too much money? Well here is an easy tutorial on how to make one!
Please see part 1 first. http://ally517.tumblr.com/post/46378784486/make-your-own-arc-reactor-part-1-ever-wanted-to
STEPS (continued)
7. Now the gluing can begin! First off, glue both of your mounting board pieces together.
8. Now glue a clear piece of acetate on top of that.
9. Take your blue piece of acetate and glue on that.
10: Another clear piece (Cut another one (or two to be safe) out).
NOTE: The clear pieces of acetate have sandwiched the blue piece between them. This helps keep the blue from rubbing off on anything.
11. Glue on one piece of the design. I put glue on the rim and the triangle in the center.
12. Second arc reactor design (glue in same places).
13. Now clean up your work and fix as needed. I took hot glue and glued the outer triangle down to the acetate, as well as the two pieces (same places).
13. Now place the assembly onto the light to test it out. Once you are happy, then you can glue it down. But if you are like me and find it difficult to push the light on and off over the assembly, then tape it down so you can easily remove and turn on and off as needed.
14. YOU ARE DONE! If your light does not come with a self adhesive back, which it normally should, then you can go buy some self adhesive or just tape it to your chest. Just keep an eye on it to make sure your design or light doesn’t come off!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and found it helpful! Please send or post (tag with ally517 please) pictures if you choose to use this tutorial! If there is anything you think I can improve with this, don’t be afraid to say so!
Stay classy tumblr! Peace out!

MAKE YOUR OWN ARC REACTOR! PART 1
Ever wanted to be Tony Stark/Iron Man for Halloween, cosplay, or maybe just for the heck of it? Have you wanted to make an awesome arc reactor, but not spend too much money? Well here is an easy tutorial on how to make one!
Materials:
-Push Light (dollar store)
-Bristol Board or thick cardstock
-Acetate or any clear plastic
-Mounting Board
-Hot Glue Gun
-Markers (I used Prismacolor but you can use sharpie)
-Exacto Knife
-Tape
-Cutting Board
-A printout of the style arc reactor you want (I used the one from Iron Man 2 and the Avengers)
LETS GET STARTED!!!!
1. Cut out the arc reactor pattern until you are left with a flimsy stencil.
2. Trace push light onto mounting board and acetate twice and cut out. DO NOT USE SCISSORS ON MOUNTING BOARD!! You’ll just ruin them!
3. Trace design onto Bristol board and fold paper. Use the Exacto knife and cut out pattern. Now you have six circles: two mounting board, two acetate, and two of the pattern.
4. On both of the pattern pieces, use a gray (I used 80% cool grey from Prismacolor) and color in.
5. On ONE acetate circle, use a light blue (I used true blue) and color in. If you are using acetate and Prismacolor markers like me let the marker COMPLETELY DRY before moving on!
6. Now you are ready to assemble your arc reactor! Plug in your hot glue gun and, while you wait, put all the pieces together on the light to see if it works.
NOTE: The board goes on bottom for some space because, if you get a push light like mine (raised light), then you’ll need the space.

Here is the completed arc reactor! I will have the tutorial up soon! I will do a mini shoot soon (tomorrow maybe) as female Tony Stark!
I am not sure if they are doing this globally as a promotion. But this was set up in one of the malls in Hong Kong and it was riiiidiiiiculous. They also had virtual Iron Man HUD, full sized suits and all the toys on display.
